Back in 2022, the people at Sonoro and My Cultura Podcast invited me to direct a project: Adelita: Changing The Key. It tells the fascinating story of Tejano queen Adelita Paz and the compromises she must make in pursuit of her crossover dream to become a famous pop star.
I had the privilege of directing stars like Diane Guerrero (Orange is the New Black, Doom Patrol), Jesse Garcia (Flamin’ Hot, The Mother), Ana Ortiz (Ugly Betty, Devious Maids), among others.
The script was written by the one and only Ligiah Villalobos.
